GENERAL TURBO GUIDE (IMPORTANT)

INVESTIGATE CAREFULLY WHY THE OLD TURBO HAS BROKEN DOWN.
IF YOU SIMPLY INSERT A NEW ONE, THERE IS A MAJOR RISK THAT IT, TOO, WILL BREAK DOWN.

THOROUGHLY CLEAN THE AREA AROUND THE TURBO BEFORE DISMANTLING IT.
THIS IS TO PREVENT ANY PIECES OF DIRT FROM SUBSEQUENTLY FALLING INTO THE NEW TURBO.

EXAMINE THE PIPES, HOSES AND AIR FILTER HOUSING FOR CRACKS/DAMAGE/SLAG/FOREIGN BODIES WHEN DISMANTLING. CLEAN THESE PARTS AND REPLACE IF NECESSARY (REPLACE O-RINGS, GASKETS AND CLIPS).

EXAMINE THE MANIFOLD AND (EGR + PIPES/HOSES) FOR CRACKS/ROUGH SCALES/RUST SPOTS/COKE.
CLEAN THESE PARTS AND REPLACE IF NECESSARY.

IF THERE IS OIL IN THE PRESSURISATION SYSTEM, EMPTY/CLEAN THE ASSOCIATED INTERCOOLER AND HOSES.
REPLACE THE INTERCOOLER IF IT SHOWS STONE IMPACT OR IS CRACKED.

IF THERE HAS BEEN OIL IN THE SYSTEM, THE EXHAUST, CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND PARTICLE FILTER MAY BE BLOCKED. CLEAN THESE PARTS, OR REPLACE IF NECESSARY (MEASURE BACK PRESSURE).

EXAMINE THE HOSES AND PIPES OF THE ENGINE'S VENTILATION SYSTEM/CRANK VENTILATION FOR SLAG AND BLOCKAGES. CLEAN THESE PARTS AND REPLACE IF NECESSARY.

ALWAYS CHANGE THE ENGINE OIL AND FILTER, AND USE NEW GASKETS.
USE OF LIQUID SEALS AND JOINTING PASTE IS PROHIBITED WHEN MOUNTING A TURBO.

CHECK THE OIL PRESSURE AT THE TURBO, OR CHECK THE OIL FLOW, BEFORE MOUNTING THE OIL RETURN LINE.
ON SOME VEHICLES, SPECIFIC PARTS MUST BE REPLACED OR SPECIAL PROCEDURES MUST BE PERFORMED WHEN CHANGING THE TURBO.
